RESPECT
What is the first thing that comes to mind when someone says Respect? Is it being nice, saluting a soldier, or something you do not even need to think about. Respect is felt in many ways, what we must understand is to take every meaning and use it as one. We do not just have one meaning; we must not continue to go all gun hoe on just that one meaning.
The main point of a definition is to show you many ways to look at it so you can get the most out of the word and use it in the way you feel. If they wanted you to just see the word and think whatever you wanted they would not have made etymologies about them. I believe that you should get out what you want to get out, but I do also say that you need to get everything out of it and use the word to its full purpose. It is not cool to use the word just to use it or to use it because you think it sounds good in a sentence. Remember the time when that one kid in your class just jumped in to the conversation, they said some sentence and when he they were done we just kind of look at him and said WHAT???? This to me is the worst thing you can do to the word Respect, just for the fact that we are not giving respect to the word Respect. Seems kind of funny doesn’t it. The word must mean more than just a word; you must have feeling when you use the word. The word is mostly used in reference to a bad thing, basically you hear the word if you are not giving respect to someone or something. The word is also used if you are giving respect to something, but that doesn’t come along very often.
Does respect just mean for one object or person??? I have learned a lot this past week, even more than what I have saw before in my life. It does not only count for one person or thing. It can go out to everyone and anyone, as it should always. Pledging at Zeta Sigma has shown me what the limits of respect are. I thought I had the limit of respect and I was mostly above all in coconsciousness of using it. With my pledge class and hearing what the brothers say or show is more than enough to say that there is no limit and you can always improve. We as a pledge class not only have to show respect by being nice and what not, but showing respect as a group. We have a saying 13=1 and 1=13, and to us we are all a link putting in respect to the world to get the most out of it as one.
You have to show respect in your own words or ways, but as I said before you have to show it in context of the real meaning and not something you just think you know or want it to be. I want everyone in the world to feel how I feel about this word. It’s what I live by in my life, if I ever need to think about something important the word respect comes in to play in everything I do. I have to say I get pretty defensive around people who do not show respect. I get right up in people’s faces if I see them not being respectful; it absolutely drives me nuts to see people being disrespectful. I have seen a lot of it and have gotten in to many fights over it, but if you cannot respect life, people, and objects then you need to be straightened out. The world should revolve around the word respect. If everyone in the world would take time to reflect on this word at least once a day, I am sure that people would see what they are doing and maybe change their ways just a little so that we could change for the better as a society. Respect is a word that should be used to show a level of value, respect should be valued. I cannot think of anyone saying “Who needs respect we will get along better without it.” Yes, if you have ever heard this then you need to start rethinking this person for they do not have a clue of what they were talking about, I would be like where’s the proof, because that just sounds dumb. Respect is a word that should be considered in everything we do, if it is not then we definitely need to start. Oh, wait we are, and it is helping and I am glad for the people who make etymologies for these words that mean so much to me.
The definition of this word should hit people hard, and make them think. If it did not then I think you need to reconsider your thoughts. This word is not only a very vast word, but a pretty hard hitting one. I love this word for what it means in definition texts as well as what I see from day to day in the world. This word is the only one of its kind as any other words out there. We should consider every word out there and the etymologies that go with them, or how will we be able to consider the reality of life.

They will Sue us,
For the words we use????
Can anyone take a word and charge you money for saying a word in your own text? Well I guess they can: Google and Apple are going on a rampage to set down a law saying that they will sue anyone who uses the word in the wrong context. What is the world coming to when people are so paranoid of money that they will try to sue for a word? The fact that Google and Apple are even trying to do this is totally absurd and the idea should be totally thrown out, and not suing should occur.
Google thinks that people will forget that Google owns that word, and they do not want to see people “googling” on different sites. The word google has evolved and I think in a good way for the company. The fact that when kids tell other kids about info they found on the net, they normally say something around “I used Google to get info,” “I was googling and found it,” “I would look on Google dude.” This all incorporates that they were using Google. You never hear of people googling on yahoo or ask jeeves. What do you type in when you go to Google? You type in www.google.com, do you not? So I really do not understand why Google is so angry and wants to sue everyone who uses it wrongly—if you consider that wrong. We grow up learning that to use proper grammar and in order to do that we have to drop the e and add ing Google isn’t even really their word. They got it off of someone else’s mistake for not putting the word out there and getting it patented. “The name "google" was invented as a play on "googol," which means 10 raised to the power of one hundred, and the company wants its URL to suggest the vast amount of information that google.com sorts for us. Fortunately the inventor of googol didn’t trademark his word when he thought it up in 1940, or google.com might be defending itself in court instead of threatening the rest of us with lawsuits.”/So really what is the Google Company complaining about? They stole it from the inventor who is not said in the article, why should we not steal from them? I do strongly believe that people now days are only in the world to make a quick buck, otherwise don’t you think that Google would realize how dumb they are being and not even realizing what they are doing? If anything what they are doing now is going to hurt them. Google is going to get on the bad side of some computer hacker and he is going to downright make every search engine a google page or something and totally screw over Google. I have never seen the word Google used in a bad way. I use it and when I say I found something I normally say I found it on Google, not I was googling on yahoo. I guess I can see what Google thinks it see’s going on. Look at the word Kleenex it is used instead of the word tissue; started as a name brand and is now a general word. We never say I need a tissue, we say we need a Kleenex.
Apple the company is not being smart in the same way Google is. They are trying to put a law against using the word Pod. This is absurd the word Pod has been out there way before the IPod came out: Pea pod, space ship pod, coffee beans being put into a pod. This is a very common word. The fact that IPod is so completely different that Pod is enough to tell us that Apple is no longer trying to help the common good, but yet they are trying to make a quick buck. “Apple can’t stop us from using pod, a word which suggests beans and little space ships to me, as it probably did to Steve Jobs…” (Pretty smart thing to do, don’t you think?) How can you be that money grubbing? They are not even the same word. We have to look at Ipod, does it even start with the same letter as Pod? If you actually cannot answer this in 2 seconds then you are just as bad as the Apple Industry. Blinded by the look of green in the eyes of the beholder, Apple should use this as their slogan. Why not be honest with your marketing? It is most likely be because people will see the truth.
The fact that neither of these companies realize what they are doing is ridiculous, and in no way is this going to help them. The only thing I see this doing for them is getting people pissed—which will then lead to people holding a grudge and not using google just to try to piss Google off.

The specific argument strategies that i used is how do people use the word, and how we look at it most of the time. I also showed examples from my personal experinces with the word and how i felt the impact from them. I tried to tell what people should see in the word, but to keep it in there own text.
My logos pathos and ethos was probably not the best not quite sure what i am doing in that part yet, like how to say it in a paper. Doing the paper at first was challenging just becasue i didn't know how to start with out jumping around a bunch, still think i did that somewhat, but i hoped it came out right. I thought this was so because i went from paragraph to paragraph and not as a paper as a whole; wrote a paragraph then took a break then came back and wrote another. I think that this way it messed with the order of ideas and i jumped around becasue of it.

Who’s the Brute?
Brute= One who has animal like behavior, has time to think before action then still proceeds to be dastardly, and does not ever show remorse for what he has done.
Some one that is on a rampage of hurting cops, thrashing about, and generally causing havoc to me is considered a brute. The patient in this story is animal like; intoxicated with alcohol and unyielding to any commands given to him. Whether the command is trying to help him get treatment or to just simply calm down, he thrashes about rampantly in a drunken rage and speaks no solid words too clearly, except the words “You fuckin’ hold still,” This man has clearly been drunk before and in spite of knowing he gets physical when drunk, he decides to drink again. This man has to be held up by 4 cops, and also held down by straps on the emergency table. If you are getting the picture then good, he is huge. He is also described as less than human: “a great mythic beast,” “a netted panther” if that does not make you look animal like then I do not know what does. He is getting helped by a man that is going to save his life, and all he does is make the procedure take 3 hours longer than what was even remotely needed, not to mention more time for him to bleed to death. The cut in his forehead was so deep in went to the skull, common sense tells you he must have been bleeding mass amounts of blood. This in realization now the doctor had to work fast and get it done so the man would not die. So you think that the huge hulking brute of a man ever had remorse for his actions, did he ever come back in to thank the doctor, I think not or else you might think the doctor would have put that in the story.
The task of a doctor is to save lives. I believe that if the doctor has to do something that does not kill us or severely hurt us to make us live then it is fine. Other parts of the body can take healing for me living any day especially when it is just an poke of the earlobe. The doctor is somewhat animal like with the grin he shows, but no where close to becoming a full fledged ravenous for blood doctor. He also shows much remorse for in actions at the end by telling the cops: “Easy, easy,” He also thinks to himself in remorse and takes the patients side: “And, to myself, if you hit him again…” The doctor had to do what he was trained to do, which was save the mans life, a life of a stranger. Not only did he succeed in his tiredness state to patch the man up, but to show remorse after the battle had taken place. The doctor clearly did not have time to think about his actions when he showed the grin to the patient. He was tired, and after 3 attempts of trying to calm the man down, he needed to finish his job whether the fact the man would cooperate or not.
The doctor showed brutality for a period of a couple seconds while the patient showed brutality way before he even was at the hospital and continued all the time there. If brutality is getting angry for split seconds so you can save a life then by all means be brutal, but if brutality is getting your self into serious confrontations that could lead to death then I do not want any part in it.
